Ada 10 lagu yang dikumpulkan label Michael yang belum pernah diedarkan sebelumnya. Kontroversi pun beredar ketika album 'Michael' mulai jadi isu besar di masyarakat. Sebagian keluarga Michael percaya pria yang menyanyi dalam lagu-lagu di album itu hanya orang yang mirip. Namun publisher membantah hal tersebut.

Dalam sampul album 'Michael' mereka memajang foto tulisan tangan sang King of Pop tersebut. Beberapa lagi dibuat Michael pada tahun 90-an, namun para produser telah mengubah lagu tersebut hingga jadi kekinian. Para produser yang terlibat selain Michael sendiri yaitu Akon, Giorgio Tuinfort, Teddy Riley, Theron "Neff-U" Feemster, Tricky Stewart, Eddie Cascio, Brad Buxer, Lenny Kravitz dan John McClain.

Beberapa musisi tersebut juga ikut berkolaborasi bersama Michael. Sebut saja rapper Akon yang ikut bernyanyi bersama di lagu bernuansa R&B 'Hold My Hand'. Lagu tersebut jadi single jagoan di album 'Michael'.

Lagu-lagu bernuansa pop kental ala Michael masih sangat berasa. Seperti lagu 'Best of Joy'. Lagu yang ikut diiringi paduan suara itu kabarnya adalah karya terakhir Michael yang ditulis tahun 2009, tak lama sebelum ia meninggal.

Album Terbaru dan Terakhir si Raja Pop Michael Jackson

LOS ANGELES – Album terbaru Michael Jackson telah direkam sebelum meninggal dunia pada 2009 lalu. Album tersebut rencananya akan dirilis bulan depan.

“Proses kreatif Raja Pop tidak pernah berhenti,” ujar pihak label yang akan memproduksi album Michael, Epic Records, yang dikutip NewsCore, Minggu (7/11/2010).

Single pertama Breaking News akan dirilis melalui situs resmi Michael pada 8 November. Sementara, albumnya baru akan dirilis pada 14 Desember. Walau begitu, cover albumnya sudah selesai digarap dan diperlihatkan ke publik. Gambar cover menunjukkan lukisan minyak yang dibuat Kadir Nelson sejak 2009.

“Sebuah perjalanan dari momen-momen penting dalam kehidupan Jackson,” tulis Epic menggambarkan cover tersebut.

Seperti diketahui, Michael meninggal akibat serangan jantung pada 25 Juni 2009 atau sepekan sebelum tur konser ‘This Is It’ di London, Inggris. Otoritas berwenang di California mengkategorikan kematian Michael sebagai pembunuhan. Dokter pribadi Michael, Conrad Murray, kini menunggu dibawa ke meja hijau.
